Patient Safety

Your safety is our top priority. We work together as a team - you, your family, and your healthcare providers - to ensure the best possible care and prevent errors.

Medication Safety

Know your medications and keep a list. When making this list, include the name, dosage, and how often you take the medication, including over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and supplements. Before taking any medication, check that it matches what was ordered for you.

Fall Prevention

Falls can be prevented. Call for help when getting out of bed. Keep your call button within reach. Wear non-slip footwear. Report wet floors or obstacles immediately.

Infection Control

Hand hygiene is the most important way to prevent the spread of infection. Everyone entering your room should clean their hands. Ask visitors to clean their hands before touching you.

Identification

You will receive an identification band with your name and medical record number. This band helps ensure you receive the correct medications and treatments.

Advance Directives

Advance directives allow you to express your wishes for medical treatment if you become unable to make decisions. Discuss your preferences with your healthcare provider.
