Our Medical-Surgical Unit provides individual, clinically expert, professional nursing care to our patients. Our patient population includes all ages from pediatric to geriatric, and includes a wide variety of medical diagnoses including pre and post-operative care.

We offer services to outpatients in our Observation Unit for same day surgical recovery, IV medications, injections, dressing changes, and short term medical problems. We offer support services for discharge planning including nursing or boarding home and home health services planning and include follow up inquiries for patients discharged home. We are patient-centered and committed to providing evidence based care by our team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nurses assistants, unit coordinators and ancillary services.

We now offer skilled rehabilitation level care with our Swing Bed program. Designed for patients who require more time to recover and rehabilitate after surgery or illness before going home, the RFGH swing bed program offers patients superior rehabilitation programs and high quality, coordinated medical care in the comfort and familiarity of our community hospital setting. There would be no need to transfer to another facility to continue your rehab or extended care needs. Keep the same medical and therapy team begun during your acute stage of recovery throughout your rehabilitation process.

We have recently been designated a NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) Hospital and have nurses working to complete GRN (Geriatric Resource Nurse) training to improve our elder care.
