  • Dr. TR Shankar is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edin.), and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Shankar completed his residency at Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Boston University Medical Center.

  • Victoria Stannard, MD is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. A graduate of the Nottingham University Medical School in England, Dr. Stannard completed a residency in General Surgery at the Nottingham Teaching Hospitals and then did a Research Fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Buffalo, NY. Having decided to continue her career in the US she went on to complete the General Surgery Residency program at SUNY, Buffalo, NY; She spent six years in private practice in Massachusetts and was most recently Attending Surgeon at Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterborough, NH. Dr. Stannard is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

RFGH has provided quality, comprehensive health services to the residents of Somerset County since 1952. A member of the Maine Hospital Association, RFGH offers inpatient and outpatient services in many specialties, has a network of community-based primary care and pediatric physicians, and provides 24-hour emergency medical services.
