Billing & Insurance
General Information:
We want your stay at RFGH to be as comfortable as possible and encourage you to ask questions or let us know if there is anything more we can do for you. We are available to explain the billing and payment procedures, to insure the billing and payments were handled properly, and to help you with any questions or concerns.
We may be reached at 207-858-8367, Monday - Friday from 7:00am - 4:30pm.
- No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay;
- Financial assistance is available. A sliding fee schedule for payment for services based on family size and income are available to those who qualify. - If you have one insurance policy, the insurance company may pay the bill in full. In this case, you may not receive a statement from us. If for any reason your insurance company does not pay the balance in full, we will send you a statement for the remaining balance.
- If you have two insurance companies, the second insurance may pay the remaining balance. In this case, you may not receive a statement from us. If for any reason, both insurance companies do not pay the balance in full, a statement will be sent to you after payment by the second insurance. Payment is due upon receipt of your statement.

- If you have questions about what your insurance covers, or deductibles, please call your insurance company.
- In addition to statements from RFGH, you may receive statements or bills from other providers or specialists.

- Payment may be made over the phone with Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Please call 858-8350 or 858-8351.
- You may pay your bill in person at our Cashier's window, located at 22 Jones Street (the white building located behind the Medical Office Building). The window is open from 7:00 am — 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. If you are unable to make it at that time, you may make cash or check payments at the switchboard in the hospital.
- If you are unable to pay your bill in full, please contact the Patient Accounts Department at 858-8367 to discuss your options. We will work with you to set up a payment plan. You may be eligible for Free Care or Partial Free Care. Free Care eligibility is based on guidelines established by the Department of Health and Human Services.
