General

RFGH

RFGH is seeking two night shift float CNA's. This is a nursing aid position that will be responsible for floating to multiple clinical departments in the hospital (including Med/Surg, SCU, Birthing Center, and ED) as directed by the nursing supervisor or nursing leadership to work in a capacity as a CNA and/or Unit Coordinator (sometimes both).

Status: Full time, 36 hours per week 6p-6a

Qualities: The position requires an exceptional ability to multi-task, be flexible, and function in extremely stressful situations. This individual needs basic preparation to perform assigned patient care activities and related non-professional services that assist the registered professional nurses to care for the personal needs and comfort of patients.

Requirements: Must be certified through an approved State of Maine nurse aide certification program. Must also be on the State of Maine registry. The CNA position is entry to advanced level. BLS.

Emergency Department

The Emergency Department CNA/UC works to support a busy multi-disciplinary team. This person must have the ability to interact professionally with multiple age groups and disciplines. Patient centered focus is imperative.

Laboratory

The Chemistry Supervisor will be trained in all areas of the laboratory including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank and phlebotomy. This person will oversee day-to-day operations of our chemistry department. The person in this position will maintain, troubleshoot, and manage the quality assurance of our chemistry instrumentation. The Chemistry Supervisor will also oversee chemistry quality control, train students/new hires, maintain department reagent inventory levels, assess staff competency, and assure chemistry policies and procedures are up to date.

Status: Full time 40 hours to include every third weekend holiday

Qualities: Strong leadership and communication skills and attention to detail a must

Requirements: AS/BS degree in Medical Technology or equivalent. MT/MLS ASCP or equivalent and two years chemistry experience preferred.

Nursing Administration

The Infection Preventionist is responsible for the direction, operation and management of the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program, ensuring regular and timely revisions that reflect current standards and guidelines of applicable professional and regulatory agencies. In addition to facilitating an annual risk assessment, the Infection Preventionist surveils for indicators of infectious problems and risks inside and outside the facility, then facilitates and supports mitigation, routinely consulting and collaborating with others. Staff participation and compliance in the infection prevention program is supported by education and training activities. The IP reports infection and quality data to government and regulatory agencies as required. The IP must poses excellent skills in observation, data management and analysis, critical thinking, communication and teamwork. The IP serves on several committees including Antibiotic Stewardship, Safety, OR, and Regulatory Compliance, however serving on the Infection Control Committee is a primary IP responsibility with duties including reporting infection indicators, quality improvement measures and facilitating program changes as recommended.

Requirements: The (IP) must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with Maine Licensure and/or in Medical Technology. Certification in Infection Prevention (CIC) is preferred but minimally required within 2 years in the position.

Education

Earn as you learn! RFGH is seeking their first group of students for the all-expense paid Medical Assistant Training Program.

Medical Assistant trainees must commit to 20 hours per week of education and on-the-job training from March 2nd through June 29th. Trainees will learn the clinical and administrative skills necessary to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam through the National Healthcare Association. Upon completion of the program and earning the CCMA credential, trainees are guaranteed an interview for a full time position at RFGH.

Educational component includes online modules (reading, tests, simulations, etc.), weekly in-class instruction, and workplace experience. Attendance at Wednesday evening classes from 4:00-7:00pm, as well as all scheduled shifts, is required.

Status: Part time, 20 hours per week. Wednesday evening classes from 4:00-7:00pm.

Qualities: Great interpersonal and organizational skills required, as well as flexibility and willingness to learn. Must be able to multi task and have general computer skills. Commitment to providing quality patient-centered care is a must.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, CASAS reading score of 239 or above.

RMPC

The RMPC Medical Assistant performs various activities under the general supervision of the physician and the Office Manager to support exceptional patient centered care.

Status: Full time, 40 hours M-F

Qualities: Good interpersonal and organizational skills required. Previous medical office experience is desirable. Must be able to multi task and have computer and typing skills

Requirements: Medical Assistant Certification required. Associate Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.

Laboratory

RFGH is seeking a Laboratory Technician/Technologist capable of functioning in all clinical areas of our full service hospital laboratory.

Status: per diem, nights, we are looking for a minimum of every third weekend availability

Qualities: Must have flexibility and excellent attention to detail.

Requirements: AS/BS degree in Medical Technology or BA/BS in Biological Science having completed required clinical laboratory training. ASCP/AMT certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician or equivalent is preferred. At least one year of generalist experience in the areas of Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Microbiology and Phlebotomy is preferred.

Plant Operations

The RFGH Plumber must have knowledge in steam, heating, chilled water, sewer, potable water and medical gas systems as well as the ability to repair these systems and their components as needed. Must have the willingness to provide general maintenance tasks as the need arises.

Status: Full time 40 hours with on call rotation

Qualities: Must have energetic work ethic, great communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements: Must hold a valid journeyman and/or master state of Maine plumbing license. High pressure boiler operator license required within 1 year of employment. Basic computer skills required. Experience in healthcare and a graduate of a trade/vocational school is preferred.

Radiology

Under the supervision of the Chief Technologist and the direction of the Radiologist(s), the Staff Technologist shall perform a variety of radiologic and fluoroscopic procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnoses and clinical assessment. The Staff Technologist shall assume responsibility for designated areas and/or procedures, must have adaptability and willingness to cross-train into at least one other modality is encouraged, must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform exams on patients of all age groups, and must be knowledgeable about developmental needs over the age span and where appropriate are knowledgeable about the use of age related equipment.

Status: Per diem

Qualities: Patient centered team approach to care is imperative.

Requirements: Must be a graduate from an approved Radiologic Technology program. Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and maintain current active status. Must hold a current Maine State license for radiology Technology. BLS required. Previous experience is desirable.



Respiratory

The respiratory therapist is responsible for providing various therapeutic and diagnostic modalities as well as patient education and participation in quality assurance surveys. One to two years of experience with blood gas skills preferred. Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays as well as 12 hour call rotations for coverage and transports required.

Status: Full-time, 36 hours

Qualities: Ability to work independently in emergency situations

Requirements: State of Maine Respiratory Therapy license and RRT required; BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP required, or able to obtain within an allotted amount of time.

Switchboard

The Switchboard Operator shall maintain coverage of Switchboard by answering all incoming calls, code blue phone, and the beepers, must act in a professional manner, be neat appearing, tactful and friendly at all times when on duty, as they are the communication center and receptionist for the entire hospital

Status: Part-time, every Friday overnight and every 1st Sunday. Optional additional hours available.

Qualities: Solid Communication skills, accuracy and reasoning skills are required. Ability to adapt to change and handle multiple duties is essential.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Computer experience is required.

Cardiac Rehab

In this role, you will work with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate and facilitate care, implement care plans, and help patients achieve targeted goals. Candidates must be fluent in cardiac rhythm reading and interpretation.

Status: Per Diem, as needed M, W, F 8a-4p

Qualities: Must be motivated, and have the ability to work both with a small team and also independently.

Requirements: Must hold current Maine RN, BLS, & ACLS

Special Care Unit

The SCU RN is responsible for assessment of the critically ill patient whose status may change rapidly and for carrying out complex plans of care, which involve adherence to detailed policies, procedures, and standards for technical modalities.

Status: Per diem

Qualities: Must have strong critical thinking skills, the ability to deal with complex clinical situations, and excellent team communication skills. The ability to work independently and also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while providing patient-centered care is a must.

Requirements: Must hold current Maine RN current with BLS and ACLS, PALS, IV Certification and Moderate Sedation are required within six months of hire. One year of critical care experience is preferred.

Special Care Unit


RFGH SCU Department is seeking four RN's for this shift. The SCU RN is responsible for assessment of the critically ill patient whose status may change rapidly and for carrying out complex plans of care, which involve adherence to detailed policies, procedures, and standards for technical modalities.

Status: Full time, 36 hour 7p-7a, required share in the weekend/overnight/holiday call rotation
