General

Emergency Department

The Emergency Department CNA/UC works to support a busy multi-disciplinary team. This person must have the ability to interact professionally with multiple age groups and disciplines. Patient centered focus is imperative.

Status: Full time, 36 hr, 11a-11p

Qualities: Must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work independently and perform effectively under pressure. Must have great customer service skills

Requirements: Certification from an approved Nurse’s Aide program and Me State CNA registry required. BLS certification required.


Nutrition Services

The Cafeteria Staff Worker shall prepare and arrange all foods and beverages using proper food preparation techniques. The individual will serve a variety of foods each day being sure that all are fresh and appealing. The individual also waits on customers and performs a variety of other duties to ensure a smooth cafeteria operation.

Status: Full time, 40 hours, every other weekend

Qualities: Flexibility, Reliability and a great attitude required

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Food service experience is a plus, but willing to train the right person.


EMS

The EMT performs under the direction of the Director of EMS according to the scope and limits of Maine EMS licensure, responds to calls for emergency care, transfer, routine facility-to-facility transport, community disaster, and participates in educational and public relations events. The EMT provides timely, safe, efficient, and cost-effective care, and establishes and maintains mobile communication with facilities, other units and agencies and Medical Control.

Status: Per diem

Qualities: This successful candidate must meet automotive insurability standards and must be able to work well in a fast-paced EMS environment.

Requirements: Must have current CPR and certifications appropriate to level of licensure


RMPC

The RMPC Medical Assistant performs various activities under the general supervision of the physician and the Office Manager to support exceptional patient centered care.

Status: Full time, 40 hours M-F

Qualities: Good interpersonal and organizational skills required. Previous medical office experience is desirable. Must be able to multi task and have computer and typing skills

RMPC

Redington Pediatrics

The Redington Pediatrics Medical Assistant performs various activities under the general supervision of the physician and the Office Manager to support exceptional patient centered care.

Status: Full time, 32 hours, 8-4:30 M-Th

Qualities: The successful candidate must be able to multitask, have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Requirements: Associate Degree in Medical Assistant preferred and Medical Assistant Certification required. Previous experience with electronic medical records is preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. Flexibility to work occasional overtime if needed.


Radiology

Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager/Chief Technologist and the direction of the Radiologist(s), shall perform a variety of duties and technical Nuclear Medicine procedures in preparing patients for scans utilizing radioactive tracers for body imaging to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill necessary to perform exams on patients of all age groups, are knowledgeable about development needs over the age span and when appropriate are knowledgeable about the use of age related equipment. Additional modality job requirements also required.

Status: Full time, 32hrs- Will include 16 hrs as a Nuclear Tech and 16 hrs in one other modality (CAT scan, X-Ray or Mammography) on call, weekend rotation and rotating holiday responsibilities are required

Radiology

Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager/Chief Technologist and the direction of the Radiologist(s), shall perform a variety of duties and technical Nuclear Medicine procedures in preparing patients for scans utilizing radioactive tracers for body imaging to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill necessary to perform exams on patients of all age groups, are knowledgeable about development needs over the age span and when appropriate are knowledgeable about the use of age related equipment.

Status: Part time, 16 hr

Requirements: Must be a graduate from an approved Radiology Technology school holding a National Registry in Radiology Technology. Must have previous Nuclear Medicine experience. Pharmacy

The RFGH Pharmacy Department has one position available for a student enrolled in a college of pharmacy or pre-pharmacy program. Students work as pharmacy technicians in all 4 general assignments: medication reconciliation, sterile admixture, data entry/order management, and supply management.

Status: 40 hours per week during winter/summer break, per diem during other breaks and occasional weekend days as available.

Qualities: Good attention to detail and accuracy is a must.

Requirements: Current enrollment in a college of pharmacy or pre-pharmacy program


Radiology

Under the supervision of the Chief Technologist and the direction of the Radiologist(s), the Staff Technologist shall perform a variety of radiologic and fluoroscopic procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnoses and clinical assessment. The Staff Technologist shall assume responsibility for designated areas and/or procedures, must have adaptability and willingness to cross-train into at least one other modality is encouraged, must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform exams on patients of all age groups, and must be knowledgeable about developmental needs over the age span and where appropriate are knowledgeable about the use of age related equipment.

Status: Per diem

Qualities: Patient centered team approach to care is imperative.

Requirements: Must be a graduate from an approved Radiologic Technology program. Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and maintain current active status. Must hold a current Maine State license for radiology Technology. BLS required. Previous experience is desirable.


Emergency Department

The registrar functions as a coordinator for registration activities and is an integral member of the Emergency Department team. The Emergency Department Registrar works directly with patients, obtaining consents and completing required forms as mandated by state and federal regulations. The ED Registrar assists patients with handling clerical problems and resolving any issues such as incorrect identification.

Status: per diem

Qualities: This position requires exceptional computer skills, a need for general knowledge of insurance, pre-certifications, medical terminology, and exemplary customer service skills.

Respiratory

The respiratory therapist is responsible for providing various therapeutic and diagnostic modalities as well as patient education and participation in quality assurance surveys. One to two years of experience with blood gas skills preferred. Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays as well as 12 hour call rotations for coverage and transports required.

Status: Full-time, 36 hours

Qualities: Ability to work independently in emergency situations

Requirements: State of Maine Respiratory Therapy license and RRT required; BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP required, or able to obtain within an allotted amount of time.

Nursing Opportunities

Emergency Department

The Emergency Department Charge nurse is responsible for the smooth functioning of the department and its needs by using independent judgement to assign staff and direct the team to achieve high quality patient care outcomes.

RFGH

Redington-Fairview General Hospital is offering a unique opportunity for new graduate RN’s to join our teams through our nurse residency program. This program will provide education, support, and hands-on training to new graduate nurses as they begin their careers at RFGH. All new RNs can expect a structured, comprehensive orientation in which they will work closely with experienced nurse preceptors. New RNs will also be paired with a specific nurse mentor for their first year of employment who will help guide them through the transition from student to practicing RN. Birthing Center

The Nurse Manager is a professional nurse leader responsible for patient care in the Birthing Center. Candidates must have sound clinical judgment, strong clinical skills and be able to coach others achieving excellence in patient care and service.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for human and material resource planning, staff development and creating a professional practice environment, managing the unit as well as being part of the clinical staff, and creating a work environment that facilitates and encourages involvement of staff in critical thinking to enact professional nursing practices.

Status: Full time with an excellent benefit package

Qualities: Excellent interpersonal skills are imperative. Four years’ experience in labor, delivery and post-partum care. Flexibility required in order to meet the needs of patients and institutional mission.

Requirements: State of ME RN license required, BSN or higher preferred, Leadership experience preferred. Certification in BLS, NRP, CLC, and ACLS must be obtained.


Nursing

The position offers the opportunity to lead operations of a busy community hospital. Must be skilled in communication and relationship management, and have knowledge of the healthcare environment. Must be able to lead and direct, gain the trust and respect of others, and promote teamwork. This position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Status: Per diem, typical shift is 12 hours from 7am to 7pm or from 7pm to 7am, including weekend coverage, and partial shift coverage is a possibility.

Requirements: RN with 5 years of hospital experience, BSN preferred. MOAB, ACLS, BLS & NRP (will train) certifications required. Current Maine RN license required.

She/he must be able to assess and manage patients during all stages of pregnancy, labor and delivery, post-partum care, care of the neonate and post surgical care. The RN must also be able to assess and meet the patient's physical, emotional and educational needs and have the knowledge to refer to outside agencies whenever indicated.

Status: Full time, 36 hours, variable shift. This position includes every other weekend and rotating holidays.

This position requires a registered professional nurse to plan, coordinate and assist with endoscopic procedures/special procedures.
