General

SCU
The Special Care Unit Tech works to support a busy multi-disciplinary team. This person must have the ability to interact professionally with multiple age groups and disciplines. The SCU Tech is an integral part of the Critical Care Team as they will provide support clinically, clerically, and help with Telemetry monitoring. All new hires will go through a comprehensive Telemetry Course to help support the monitoring of in-patient Telemetry.

Status: Full time, night shift-36 hours with every other weekend

Somerset Public Health

Somerset Public Health is seeking a new team member to serve on the front lines of our physical activity and nutrition programs. This position will be working on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed). This grant teaches community members who are low-income eligible how to eat healthy on a limited budget and lead physically active lifestyles. Strong candidates will have a background in providing education or formal training and experience teaching nutrition using prescribed curricula. This position will be required to keep detailed records for reporting and evaluation. The candidate will work independently, be well-organized, and possess a strong attention to detail. Travel is required throughout the Somerset Public Health service area and occasionally to statewide trainings in a central location (1-2 per year).

Materials Management

Nursing Administration

The Infection Preventionist is responsible for the direction, operation and management of the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program, ensuring regular and timely revisions that reflect current standards and guidelines of applicable professional and regulatory agencies. In addition to facilitating an annual risk assessment, the Infection Preventionist surveils for indicators of infectious problems and risks inside and outside the facility, then facilitates and supports mitigation, routinely consulting and collaborating with others. Staff participation and compliance in the infection prevention program is supported by education and training activities. The IP reports infection and quality data to government and regulatory agencies as required. The IP must possess excellent skills in observation, data management and analysis, critical thinking, communication and teamwork. The IP serves on several committees including Antibiotic Stewardship, Safety, OR, and Regulatory Compliance, however serving on the Infection Control Committee is a primary IP responsibility with duties including reporting infection indicators, quality improvement measures and facilitating program changes as recommended.

Redington Cardiology

The Redington Cardiology Medical Assistant performs various activities under the general supervision of the physician and the Office Supervisor. The Medical Assistant is expected to know all of the functions of the office procedures The MA should have general knowledge of computer use, insurances and medical terminology, and must be able to assist providers in daily operation of the office to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.

Status: Full time, 32 hours, Tuesday-Thursday 7-4:30 and Friday 7-12.

Laboratory

RFGH is seeking a Laboratory Technician/Technologist capable of functioning in all clinical areas of our full service hospital laboratory.

Status: per diem, nights, we are looking for a minimum of every third weekend availability

Qualities: Must have flexibility and excellent attention to detail.

Requirements: AS/BS degree in Medical Technology or BA/BS in Biological Science having completed required clinical laboratory training. ASCP/AMT certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician or equivalent is preferred. At least one year of generalist experience in the areas of Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Microbiology and Phlebotomy is preferred.

Radiology

Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager/Chief Technologist and the direction of the Radiologist(s), shall perform a variety of duties and technical Nuclear Medicine procedures in preparing patients for scans utilizing radioactive tracers for body imaging to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill necessary to perform exams on patients of all age groups, are knowledgeable about development needs over the age span and when appropriate are knowledgeable about the use of age related equipment. Additional modality job requirements also required.

Status: Full time, 32hrs- Will include 16 hrs as a Nuclear Tech and 16 hrs in one other modality (CAT scan, X-Ray or Mammography) on call, weekend rotation and rotating holiday responsibilities are required

The Laboratory Department Phlebotomy/EKG Technician staff will be competent to perform all diagnostic procedures, as assigned and must be able to demonstrate consistent competence to perform the skills required

Respiratory

The respiratory therapist is responsible for providing various therapeutic and diagnostic modalities as well as patient education and participation in quality assurance surveys. One to two years of experience with blood gas skills preferred. Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays as well as 12 hour call rotations for coverage and transports required.

Status: Full-time, 36 hours

Qualities: Ability to work independently in emergency situations

Requirements: State of Maine Respiratory Therapy license and RRT required; BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP required, or able to obtain within an allotted amount of time.

Switchboard

The Switchboard Operator shall maintain coverage of Switchboard by answering all incoming calls, code blue phone, and the beepers, must act in a professional manner, be neat appearing, tactful and friendly at all times when on duty, as they are the communication center and receptionist for the entire hospital

Under the direction of the Radiologist, performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and communicates results, completes examinations according to prescribed procedures using independent judgment in the utilization of ultrasonic equipment for medical diagnoses, is responsible for daily operations of the department, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures and quality assessment, must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform exams on patients of all age groups, and must be knowledgeable about developmental needs over the age span and where appropriate are knowledgeable about age related equipment.

Requirements: Must have a high school education and be a Registered Radiologic Technologist with previous Ultrasound experience or Previous Ultrasound experience or hold the ARDMS Registry for Ultrasound. or Be a graduate from an 'Approved Accredited Ultrasound School', holding the Physics component of the ARDMS registry-and eligible to take a 'specialty' within 1 year of graduation for completion of ARDMS credentials. Redington-Fairview General Hospital is offering a unique opportunity for new graduate RN to join our SCU team through our nurse residency program. This program will provide education, support, and hands-on training to a new graduate nurse as they begin their career at RFGH. The new RN can expect a structured, comprehensive orientation in which they will work closely with experienced nurse preceptors. The New RN will also be paired with a specific nurse mentor for their first year of employment who will help guide them through the transition from student to practicing RN.
