Educators to support local nutrition and food systems work as part of a new
statewide initiative connecting nutrition, prevention, and community health. This
role offers the opportunity to work directly with people across Somerset County
while helping strengthen how communities use food and education to improve
health.
Full time; fully benefited. One 30 hour position and one 40 hour position
This is an active, community-facing role. You might lead a cooking
demonstration, guide a grocery store tour, support a community garden, or
collaborate with healthcare partners on food-as-medicine approaches. You will
work with people across the lifespan—from young children and families to older
adults—translating nutrition science into practical strategies people can use
in everyday life.
In this role, you will build partnerships with schools, healthcare
organizations, and community groups to expand nutrition knowledge, address food
insecurity, and support healthier environments. The work combines direct
education, community partnership, and public health approaches.
We are looking for someone who enjoys engaging with people, is
comfortable facilitating demonstrations and conversations, and is motivated by
seeing real impact from their work. The ideal candidate is adaptable, creative,
and believes meaningful community health work starts with listening and
building strong relationships.
If you are energized by hands-on community work and want to help
strengthen how people connect food, health, and prevention, we encourage you to
apply. This
role is well suited for someone who is motivated by real engagement, enjoys
taking initiative, and wants to see the impact of their work in the community.
Required: Demonstrated
experience in community-based health promotion or prevention work.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, or a
related field.
