This program's creation was facilitated by MedHelp Maine, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to develop community-based prescription assistance programs managed by hospitals and other organizations. It is funded in part from the Maine Health Access Foundation.
The Maine Health Access Foundation, created in 2000, is the state's largest health care foundation. Their mission is to promote affordable and timely access to comprehensive, quality health care and to improve the health of every Maine resident. In particular, the foundation targets strategies that serve the uninsured and medically under served.
