The Emergency Department has an opening for a per diem RN to cover all shifts, holidays, absences and vacations. A minimum of 4 years Emergency Nursing with triage experience, current ACLS, PALS, and IV certification. ENPC, TNCC required and CEN preferred. Excellent communication, critical thinking and customer service skills with innovative ideas. Able to support team function and work effectively, efficiently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Medical Surgical Unit
Medical Surgical Unit has one per diem position available for all shifts and weekends. 2-3 years experience in secretarial/medical background and medical terminology is preferred. Applicant must be highly organized and able to work independently and perform effectively under pressure. Assertiveness and good interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Respiratory Department has a per diem position available to cover all shifts, vacations, weekends and holidays. Must have a State of Maine Respiratory Therapy License. You must also be BLS, ACLS & PALS and NRP certified or to obtain certification within an allotted amount of time. Must have RRT. Competitive wage scale. Prefer one to two years of experience with blood gas skills.
Community Case Manager
Nursing Administration has a full time RN position. The major job responsibilities include telephonic support for patients with chronic disease with a focus on Congestive Heart Failure, assessment of patient care needs though direct contact of inpatients, collaboration with discharge planners and community networking for wellness promotion. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively with colleagues/clients and be able to work well in a busy multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include quality monitoring and reporting. The ideal candidate has a BSN, experience in working with cardiac patients, knowledge of nurse sensitive indicators and core measures and experience with telephonic patient support. Consideration will be given to sharing the position by two people.
Housekeeping department has one per diem position available. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. May have to fill in for all shifts and in all positions. Experience in healthcare facilities helpful.
Medical/ Surgical Unit
Medical Surgical Unit has one per diem position available to work all shifts. Must be flexible to work different shifts (days, evening, nights) and weekends, holidays to cover vacations and absences. Experienced MS nurse preferred and must hold a current BLS certification.
Nursing Department has per diem positions available for all shifts. Staff needed to do one on one observation of at risk patients. Health care experience preferred. Not responsible for direct care. Works under direction of nursing. Observes and reports changes to nursing staff. Good communication skills needed.
RN, Nursing Supervisor
Nursing Administration has one 12-hour per week night position available (7p to 7a) and one per diem position to cover night shifts and occasional vacation, weekends and holidays. Must have RN license in the State of Maine. Must hold current CPR (BLS) and ACLS certification. Must have excellent service skills with positive interpersonal relationships as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. Requires skills in supervision and leadership as well as a strong clinical knowledge and the ability to make independent decisions. Must be a clinical resource to nursing services.

Medical Surgical Unit
Medical Surgical Unit has two 32-hour positions available, every other weekend. One will be (2-12hr 6p-6a and 1 - 8hr shift 6a-2p). The second position will be (4 - 8hr shifts on 2p - 10p). Per diem positions available and must be flexible between shifts, will need to work some weekend and holidays. Certification from an approved Nurses Aid Program. Must be registered with the State CNA Registry. Certification in BLS is required. Shall be qualified by education, background and experience for the responsibility of the position. Clinical experience in hospital is preferred.

Somerset obesity prevention program. Successful candidate must have the ability to work within a team and individually to collaborate with schools, child care facilities, after school programs, health care, work sites, and communities to improve physical activity and nutrition policies and environments. Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Community Health, Public Health or related field. Master of Public of Community Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification preferred. At least three years of experience in successful community health project management implementing education, environment and policy change strategies preferred. Experience working with non-profit, government and/or private foundation grants preferred. Basic knowledge of healthcare with previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
